Today, we paid respect to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III at the Hall of Three Holy Ones and received very great benefits. From reading Answer No. 15 given by great holy virtuous ones, we are awakened like waking up from a dream. Speaking from my heart, the tangled puzzle hidden in my mind for these years has finally been broken, as if seeing the blue sky after the mist breaks. The truth is just that the Sixteen Venerable Ones were all great Arhats and possessed the three vidyas and the six supernatural powers. That was why they realized the status of a venerable one. However, as we see now, almost all rinpoches who were recognized have a title of venerable one. It is chilling to think of this fact. That is an insult to holy virtuous ones.
As we all talked about a group of venerable ones who are addressed so respectfully, it is natural to think about: How could they teach living beings? For this big matter, I beseeched H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III for a discourse on behalf of many people, “In the United States, there are Xiangge Qiongwa Rinpoche IV, Lajian Rinpoche II, Dorje Jueba Rinpoche II, Dharma Master Ruo Hui of Ha Zang Si, Dharma Master Zhi Zhuang, Jiangjia Rinpoche. Their realizations are at the levels of blue buttons. Can they teach people to learn from Buddha?”
H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III expounded the dharma, “Regarding these masters whom you seek validation on, their degrees of knowledge and learning and levels of realization are different from each other, but they are better than many famous figures in society. They are rather good masters. They are earnestly learning and spreading my Buddha-dharma. As long as they act according to the teachings, they are very good masters for teaching people. Perhaps you may think that they are not great holy virtuous ones. I said this long ago: where are so many great holy virtuous ones? Even Venerable Wang Zha Who is a great holy virtuous one is not Sakyamuni Buddha or Guan Yin Bodhisattva. Can you find Sakyamuni Buddha or Guan Yin Bodhisattva? In this dharma-ending age, it is extremely lucky to be taught by an eminent monastic or a great virtuous one.”
After that, I had another question to beseech His Holiness the Buddha to expound the dharma, “Regarding Dharma Master Zhi Zhuang, we know that he was a rinpoche. How did he become a dharma master? What is good for the change?”
H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III expounded the dharma, “He was a rinpoche, a layperson rinpoche. He can quit the position of an ambassador to the United Nation to become a monastic. Could this be called bad rather than good? He should be commended.”
After hearing the definition given by His Holiness the Buddha, we finally laid down our concern. It turned out that these masters are also hard-to-find good masters. We should learn and practice the Buddha-dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III under their guidance.
