The Phoenix Weekly had a big title of “Rinpoche Wanted for Arrest – The Inner and Detailed Facts about Wan Ko Yee’s Gang of Swindlers Using the Name of Religion” on the cover of its 28-th issue of 2013. Inside, it published 10 pages of contents directly aimed at H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. The long writings attempted to declare H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III as a swindler using the name of religion and that the organizations and disciples following Him are accomplices in the alleged fraud of religion.

In normal circumstances and from common sense, any influential news magazine should take the stance of objectivity and fairness and strive for truthfulness and plausibility when reporting such serious and heavy topics, to avoid the possibility of misleading the public. However, the Phoenix Weekly did not have any rigorous analysis and proof and did not offer any real evidence in the entire article. Also, there was no interview with or any opportunity provided for H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s side for explanations. There was not a basic process of normal news reporting. The writing had just one purpose of total negativism! The author of the article was a special correspondent with the name of Wang Jialiang, which was found after researching the matter by us to be a pseudonym of a non-existent person.

This article of aiming at a famous person and reporting a major event was written by an anonymous author. Additionally, the contents were false and filled with lies using vague statements and confusing logics. When subjected to serious consideration, none of the accusations could be established. It could not withstand a simple rebuttal! This article will be questioned without a doubt. Moreover, legally speaking, it definitely committed the violation of  a person’s rights by any country’s standard! The Phoenix Weekly completely ignored such serious consequences and even risked destroying its reputation accumulated through many years to defame H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. This obviously does not match the common sense of operating a news media! It is apparent that the Phoenix Weekly was either under a great pressure or was induced by pursuing a greatly attractive gain. Regardless of which motivation it had, it was propelled from behind by a hidden force to engage at any cost in a dealing that would certainly end with its losing. Its goal was damaging the reputation of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III! As to who is behind this and the reason for doing so, readers will find out from reading this article.

H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III does not care and will not be concerned about this matter. His Holiness the Buddha came to this world for the karmic conditions of great events to occur, fulfilling the reward of good fortune of living beings in the earthly realm, and correcting the dharma in this dharma-ending era. In the eyes of His Holiness the Buddha, defamations or praises are all like dreams, illusions, bubbles, and shadows and are produced and destroyed by their respective karmic conditions. People who have met or have known His Holiness the Buddha will all dismiss and despise the slandering article and know that it is all nonsense! However, readers who do not know the facts and do not understand Buddha-dharma will be misled. While reading, people would unconsciously accept the negative information transmitted by the article. Due to the circumstance of first impression, suspicion and negativism would be imposed on the party being targeted by the article. Such an outcome is very unfair to those living beings. If they can know the truth, perhaps they may have the karmic conditions and reward of good fortune to learn and practice the true dharma of Tathagata, thereby planting the seed for enlightenment or even becoming liberated and accomplished in the current lifetime. This was the purpose of my writing and publishing this article.

That is why I would like first to introduce the accomplishments of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III to those who have the karmic condition of reading this article. These accomplishments are solid, concrete, and all real, without any exaggeration. Everyone has the right of knowing the truth and facts. Then I will offer a rebuttal to the slandering views of the Phoenix Weekly one by one and inform readers of the truth. In the end, what is right and what is wrong will become clear naturally.

Figure caption: The Phoenix Weekly in Hong Kong published a long article near the end of last year, explicitly accusing H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III as being wanted for arrest and people affiliated with Him as a gang of swindlers using the name of religion. Buddhists from many sects provided facts to prove that the Phoenix Weekly’s report had no basis on investigated facts and insulted the holiness and purity of the Buddha. Law suits were brought up in court against the Phoenix Weekly.

H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s Accomplishments Are All Real

I. H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s True Accomplishments

The utmost high state of realization defined in sutras is “perfect proficiency in both exoteric Buddhism and esoteric Buddhism and perfect mastery of the Five Vidyas.” This phrase is not just a verbal rhetoric. The word of “perfect” stated here means the perfection in all worldly dharmas as well as transcendental dharmas.

In 2008, the treasure book of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was published in the world. His Holiness the Buddha’s thirty big categories of true accomplishments recorded in this book proved the perfect proficiency in both exoteric Buddhism and esoteric Buddhism and perfect mastery of the Five Vidyas as recorded in the sutras and validated the prophesy of His Holiness the Buddha’s coming to the world.

Around Before and after the time when His identity was recognized, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III achieved many world-class honors and accomplishments. Earlier in 1991, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was awarded the title of “Master of Oriental Art.” In 1994, during the World Poets and Culture Conference attended by 48 countries and regions, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was elected as “the Distinguished International Master,” which had the honorary status of a country’s head of state, by the representatives from 5612 experts and scholars. Additionally, the Royal Arts Academy of the United Kingdom awarded the first title of “Fellow” in its history of over two hundred years to His Holiness the Buddha. His Holiness the Buddha also received a certificate of doctoral degree. During the nine-year tenure when H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was serving at a university as a professor, the university conferred a special award to Him. In 2010, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III received the “World Peace Prize” at the Congress of the United States. H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III also received the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Legacy Award for International Service and Leadership and the United States President’s Gold Medal Prize. The day of January 19 was proclaimed to be “HIS HOLINESS DORJE CHANG BUDDHA III DAY” by the government of the Capital of the United States, Washington, DC, in an official document. This was the first officially proclaimed day of Buddha in the world. At the same time, the United States Postal Service at Washington, DC issued a congratulatory first-day cover for commemorating “HIS HOLINESS DORJE CHANG BUDDHA III DAY.”

The large total number of and the numerously broad fields involved by the accomplishments of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is unmatched by any other person in the human world. The thirty big categories of accomplishments by His Holiness the Buddha are more than a very thick book could contain. How could they be described clearly by this author who is an ordinary person? However, in order to let readers who have not had the chance of reading the book have some preliminary understanding first, I did all I could to provide a summary in the following:

His classical poetry and songs revealed the historic Tang rhyme and Song framework; His essays and writings embody deep and profound scholarly cultivation; the paintings and stone seals made by Him are hard to acquire at any price; the Buddha statue and architecture He designed are extremely beautiful and elegant; the Yun sculpture with mist hidden inside manifested His accomplishment at the acme of the Craftsmanship Vidya; examples of His achievements in the Medicine Vidya are countlessly numerous; there is no incurable disease from His treatment with Chinese medicine and acupuncture; defects and damages in non-sentient objects can be repaired in an instant!

His discourses expound the true dharma of Tathagata flawlessly; the speeches of His Holiness the Buddha are clear and far-reaching, leading the audience into the profound teaching with easy-to-understand introductions; His Vidya of Causality and Inner Vidya represent the utmost high holiness, as manifested by the five divisions of holy initiations including the Buddha-Bestowed Nectar Initiation; the dharma of The Supreme And Unsurpassable Mahamudra Of Liberation He teaches is the highest holy dharma in the earthly realm; among his disciples, there are countless superior persons; His supernatural powers and holy realization are unsurpassed in the world; He is the reincarnation of an ancient Buddha for living beings to rely on and follow; His accomplishments are unprecedented by any ancient virtuous ones and are unmatched in the world!

Actually, there is no way to describe completely all accomplishments by His Holiness the Buddha even after all words and vocabularies are exhausted! All these are ironclad facts. As a Buddhist disciple, who would not feel lucky and celebrate his good fortune for the karmic condition of having such an extremely holy one stationed in this world? During this dharma-ending era, having a great holy one coming to the world is an opportunity of thousands of years. We are extremely fortunate! The Phoenix Weekly and the slanders associated with it attempted to belittle such greatly capable and unselfish person as very low and inferior and tried all their means to label Him as a swindler. What are they up to?

This author is not capable of presenting in this article the extremely superior skills of painting of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. However, anyone can get a basic understanding just from the selling prices of over ten million dollars each. Here, I would like to quote two poetries that I especially enjoyed to present to readers. Ancient people said that one declares his aspiration in his poems and one’s writing resembles the person. Then, could one who wrote his works with the characteristics of setting high and far aspirations, ejecting the powerful air of oscillating the universe, embodying graceful elegance, and also hinting at the ultimate truth of Buddha-dharma be at the level of elementary-school students, as depicted by the Phoenix Weekly?

At the age of 16, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III wrote this ci-styled poetry to the tune of “Nian Nu Jiao”:

“At the time of entering this world between the Earth and heavens in the great chiliocosm, tens of thousands of mountains and hillocks stand majestically like ramparts of different heights and sizes. No matter how shining and splendid the hundreds of kinds of distinguished and admirable vestiges in history once were, eventually they all became entertaining stories for later generations. Golden and red clouds signal the arrival of dawn. Sounds of the morning bell urge the waning Moon’s descent. The trace of the earthly world unfolds continuously as time runs. The bustling lives of living beings just elapse without notice like vanishing smoke and melting snow!

Recalling the past years of Wan Ko, I practiced expertly scholarly works, martial arts and cultivation, with accomplishments loud and clear like the rock-breaking lion roar. Three thousand patients suffering from illnesses and diseases came to my door for treatment. I applied traditional Chinese medicine and other treatment in all possible ways to them day and night. Millions of thoughts flow smoothly along the path of prajna, making powerful impact in the Three Spheres. My wish is that all my deeds in the entire lifetime will serve sentient beings to eliminate their misfortunes and bring benefits to them.”

The other one is a poem that His Holiness the Buddha composed and recited in the format of Wu Lu,

“Is Mount Tai just all I see here? The Five Mountains (note: Mount Tai is one of the five most famous mountains in China) are not nearly what they were depicted in poems. At this time of the Moon above the mountain is greeting the splendid sunrise glow, the entire region of Qi and Lu territories is clearly in the view.

Lofty mettle is intoxicating to contemplation. A roc flying in the clouds shows the size of crows by comparison. After climbing high to reaching the Jade Emperor Peak of Mount Tai, the surrounding mountains are all small in the view.”

II. Analysis of the Slandering Contents Published in Phoenix Weekly with Facts and Truths

To summarize, the accusations made by the Phoenix Weekly against H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III are in five categories. I will quote all of them one by one with my analysis and rebuttal. I will also provide the truths and actual facts.

1. The Phoenix Weekly Did Not Conduct Any Investigation on the Events Listed in Its Report

The Phoenix Weekly stated that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III built the Master Museum in China to list His accomplishments and it was later seized and closed down; He was actually a worker of paintings at the Baoguang Temple and was kicked out from there due to improper conduct; His statuses of Distinguished International Master and Dharma King Yangwo Yeshe Norbu were acquired with the help of two persons from Taiwan. After that and reciprocally, He recognized these two persons’ statuses of dharma king and rinpoche.

The Master Museum mentioned by the Phoenix Weekly was built, using the funding from the Government of the Dayi County with the approval from the higher City’s Planning Commission, for commending H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s magnificent accomplishments at the time. Such a high-class treatment by the government was from the official government and the volunteered acts of unofficial persons. The Phoenix Weekly stated that all these were manipulated by two business people from Taiwan. Then, how could the Chinese government be so incapable as to be manipulated by two business people? Additionally, why would the Buddhist organizations, government officials, famous people from all walks of society, and eminent monks and great virtuous ones coming to learn the dharma all be willing to be fooled by these two people from Taiwan? The Phoenix Weekly wishfully negated the wisdom of all people and organizations involved at the time.

Also, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was sent to work at the Baoguang Temple by means of a special document issued by the Sichuan provincial government. This document appointed other people to work there as well. Later, His leaving the Baoguang Temple was also effected by the government’s arrangement to have all those people leaving together and reassign works for all of them. Moreover, why should the job of a worker of paintings be so discriminated against by the Phoenix Weekly? If one has already achieved the utmost high state in painting skills, can calling him a worker of paintings instead of a master damage this utmost high state? As has already been described, His Holiness the Buddha’s title of Distinguished International Master was elected by several thousand scholars from 48 countries. The certificate was signed and issued by Sir Samaranch, Chairman of the International Olympic Committee. How could this be helped by two people from Taiwan? The Phoenix Weekly should try to do such a help and see if a distinguished master can be created from their efforts.

Before being recognized as the reincarnation of an ancient Buddha, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III had the status of “Dharma King Yangwo Yeshe Norbu” and is the Great Dharma King Vajradhara of esoteric Buddhism. As is known to people everywhere, the recognition and realization of a dharma king has demonstrable evidences. Stating that the status of a dharma king was acquired with the help of two people from Taiwan is ridiculously laughable. Can the status of a dharma king be acquired with help? Speaking of the status of a dharma king in such an extremely frivolous and disrespectful manner is actually an insult to all dharma kings in the world, in addition to showing the speaker’s ignorance.

Also, the article stated that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III gave the recognitions to the statuses of dharma king and rinpoche to Wentou Wu and Hsengsheng. That was a total nonsense. Both of them had their own legitimate recognitions. However, none were made by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.

2. The Chinese Government Requested the Interpol to Withdraw the Arrest Warrant as Early as in 2008

The Phoenix Weekly stated that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was a swindler using the name of religion and had been wanted for ten years by the Chinese Government; He defrauded His disciples Liu Juan and Lau Pak Hun and escaped to the United States in 2001 after being ordered arrested for this crime.

One can be called as a swindler only after being tried and convicted by the court as having committed fraud. Before being sentenced, no one can be labeled as a criminal. This belongs to the basic concept of human rights. Does the Phoenix Weekly have this knowledge? I would like to ask the Phoenix Weekly, which court in which country sentenced this person for having committed the crime of fraud? Where is the verdict? As a matter of fact, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has never been prosecuted in any criminal proceeding in any court in any country, not to mention being convicted. On the contrary, His Holiness the Buddha was commended by the Senate of the United States Congress in a resolution that was passed unanimously without dissent.

The so-called victim in the case of fraud Liu Juan wrote a statement to the Middle-Level People’s Court of the City of Shenzhen in person with a video recording as the evidence, declaring the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III never defrauded her and all accusations were a deliberately framed persecution by some people. This statement was notarized and signed by a US official and was signed by the consul at the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles, United States. It is conclusive and valid legal evidence. Why didn’t the Phoenix Weekly report on this? The accusation of defrauding Lau Pak Hun is a similar situation. If it were true, why did the victim state to be public that this was non-existent? In addition, it is particularly noteworthy that a conference of first-class legal scholars in China concluded that there was no criminal conduct. The Phoenix Weekly was not able to explain its own argument.

The fact was that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was invited by the well-known J. Paul Getty Museum in the United States and exited Chinese Customs with legal documents to arrive in the United States at the end of July 1998. Since then, He has never gone back to China. This fact can be found from related records. The so-called case of fraud reported by the Phoenix Weekly broke out only in April 2003. Stating that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III escaped to the United States after being prosecuted is deliberately created confusion to mislead the public. The Phoenix Weekly used this method of substituting false dates to perpetuate a fraud to cover up the facts to describe a person who was living overseas and being framed as a criminal on the run. Was it reporting facts or deliberately trying to mislead the public?

The person who had to do with framing H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment for conspiracy to defraud by the court in Hong Kong in 2004. The whole thing started from her fraud of embezzling public funds being discovered by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Because her selfish purpose could not be satisfied, she then resorted to attacking and falsely accusing H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. That led to the so-called case of defrauding Liu Juan and Lau Pak Hun and the subsequent event of the arrest warrant.

INTERPOL once received an arrest warrant from a member country requesting the arrest of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. A few years later, this member country requested, on its own initiative, to withdraw this arrest warrant. The Organization of INTERPOL conducted a long-term investigation and, at the 72-th Conference of its “Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files (CCF),” withdrew this arrest warrant and the entire case. Moreover, INTERPOL issued a document of formal notice to declare clearly that no member country of INTERPOL can detain H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. The Phoenix Weekly completely disregarded all these facts and even stated that the Chinese government was still ordering the arrest. Are you trying to say that the Chinese government superficially requested INTERPOL to withdraw the arrest warrant but was still continuing the plot of persecution? It is very unlikely that the Chinese government would agree with your view.

The Phoenix Weekly stated that the police of Guangdong Province was still pursuing the arrest. That can only prove that some people did persecute H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III! It should be pointed out that the country had already applied to INTERPOL to withdraw the arrest warrant. This fact shows that a conclusion had already been made from the investigation at the highest level. Then, why should the arrest warrant still be in effect in Guangdong Province? Why should the police of the City of Shenzhen refuse to carry out the highest order from the national level? Does this mean a total disregard to the central government, or the law of another country rules Guangdong and Shenzhen? Does this represent the continuous effort of making lies by those who snatched and divided among them the properties of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III including several hundred paintings to cover up their corruptive deeds? Isn’t it clear who actually committed the crime?

The organizations and individuals who once framed and persecuted H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III should reflectively think back about the past and contemplate the future. His Holiness the Buddha is compassionate and does not want to pursue this matter. However, can you be sure that no one else will pursue what you did? Can you escape from being pursued by the law and justice of the human world? You should correct your wrongdoings. How could one expect good retribution from doing evil? Clearing up the chaos and restoring the order is a matter of time. The current situation is almost completely identical to what happened over 2,500 years ago when evildoers persecuted Sakyamuni Buddha! The Phoenix Weekly did not distinguish what was right and what was wrong and insisted on splashing dirty water toward H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. This shows their intention of making accusations in total disregard of facts!

3. The Status of a Buddha of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Was Not Self-Conferred; Rather, It Was Established from Mounting Ironclad Evidences

The Phoenix Weekly said that the status of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was self-conferred  in order to deceive living beings; a representative of Tibetan Buddhism denied His status of a Buddha; a dharma king said that he had not provided the recognition; and a rinpoche said he knew it was not right just from looking at the photo because the hair style and clothing did not meet the requirement.

If H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III had forged His status of Buddhism to deceive living beings, this should not be tolerated by any Buddhist organizations or religious groups or eminent monks and great virtuous ones upholding the true dharma of Tathagata. Then, exposing His act of fraud would be their undeniable responsibility. They all should publicize the facts to the whole world, just as what the Phoenix Weekly seemed to have done!

Then, which Buddhist organizations and famous individuals played such roles of upholding justice? In the category of Buddhist organizations, the Phoenix Weekly mentioned one. Its name was a so-and-so “Tibetan religious foundation” and its declared status was representative of Tibetan Buddhism. The organization’s responsible person was Dawa Cairen. He directly denounced the organization of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III to be a gang of swindlers.

The one dharma king mentioned was Dharma King Sakya (note: this dharma king is Sakya Trizin), who stated in a recorded video interview by a news media in Taiwan that he had never recognized “Vajradhara Buddha III.”

The rinpoche involved was “Tangrang Jiawa Rinpoche” of the Kumbum Monastery in Tibet. He thought that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s external appearance did not conform to the tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Even His clothing and hair style were not right. That was why he saw problems from looking at the photo.

In addition to the above three proofs and evidences, the Phoenix Weekly mentioned a netizen (internet user), and a “Mr. Gao” who was a defector from the system of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. So altogether, there were five pieces of evidences.

It is not difficult to see that the Phoenix Weekly was quite lazy in its effort of proving H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III to be a swindler. Adding everything together including a netizen, the number was only 5. The convincing power seemed to be somewhat thin. However, this should not be a problem. If the side of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III had self-conferred the Buddha’s status, they would have no supporting evidence at all. Then having five pieces of evidences should be sufficient. Unfortunately, the documents of recognition, corroborating recognitions, and congratulations on the status of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III were more than 60. This number is unfavorable to the Phoenix Weekly.

If you could not win by majority, it is still okay if the organization and people speaking for you had weights. Among these five evidences, the ones having the most weights are the so-and-so Tibetan religious foundation self-claiming to be the representative of Tibetan Buddhism, and Dharma King Sakya. Though they are only two in number, their weights seem to be rather heavy. As the representative of Tibetan Buddhism and a dharma king, their identities and statuses are certainly not something ordinary! Without a doubt, these were the direct supporting evidences for the Phoenix Weekly to conclude that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was a swindler using the name of religion!

Now finally it is the time for the important figures to appear on the stage. The true appearance and full name of this “so-and-so” Tibetan religious foundation with its responsible person being Dawa Cairen is –– Dalai Lama’s Tibet Religious Foundation! Having this world-famous Buddhist organization to expose a swindler of Buddhism is so reasonable and natural. Then why didn’t the Phoenix Weekly dare to mention its name publicly when quoting its statement?  Rather, a substitution with “so-and-so” was used for its name. What reason made the magazine feel that mentioning the name “Dalai Lama” would cause someone to perish? People having clear eyes would know what the concern was.

Now let’s look at the other person having a notable weight — Dharma King Sakya. On December 10, 2006, Dharma King Sakya wrote the document of recognition and gave it to Baima Dorje Rinpoche. On December, 21, 2006, Chucheng Qupei held the document of recognition written by Dharma King Sakya in his hands to show the proof and also wrote his document of recognition to congratulate (H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III). However, after the book of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was published in 2008, Chucheng Qupei stated that he forged the document of recognition (of Dharma King Sakya). Thereafter, the International Buddhism Sangha Association (IBSA) issued a statement, explaining the fact that the document of recognition was true and pointing out the real cause of Chucheng Qupei’s repenting. IBSA also requested Dharma King Sakya Trizin to make a public statement if he had never made the recognition. Dharma King Sakya Trizin gave no response to that request.

In May 2012, IBSA and other organizations sued Dalai Lama’s Tibetan government in exile in Taiwan, for its slandering the group of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III with ulterior motives. During the second half of 2012, Dharma King Sakya Trizin, who was a member of the standing committee of Dalai’s government in exile, was pressured to make a private announcement denying that he had ever written the recognition. The International Buddhism Sangha Association then published the testimonies and proofs from the witnesses of this event to show that the denial from Sakya Trizin was untrue. In 2012, Baima Dorje Rinpoche once again testified publicly to state that, on December 10, 2006, Dharma King Sakya Trizin wrote the document of recognition for H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and gave it to him in person and that this document of recognition was the one published in the book of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.

Let’s ask a question to the Dharma King from the stance of not assuming the document of recognition was true. If you were truly a holy one, wouldn’t you know ahead of time that a disciple of yours (Chucheng Qupei) was going to make a mistake? If you knew that but did not stop this act, were you acting out of holiness? Then, since you saw your recognition in the book long ago, why didn’t you speak out at that time? Why did you wait for more than one year before making the denial?

Now I would like to ask Tangrang Jiawa Rinpoche who held a negative opinion. Shouldn’t you apply the realization of Buddha-dharma to judge whether H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is true or not? At least you should enter into the state of concentration to contemplate and view, right? Do you make your decision from looking at the picture, clothing, and hair style? Furthermore, if Tangrang Jiawa never wrote a document of recognition, who is that person holding the text of recognition in the picture? Why did you have trouble with His Holiness the Buddha’s hair? Which visage of the Buddha you saw does not have hair? For instance, Sakyamuni Buddha had dark and coiled hair all over His head. Dorje Change Buddha not only has long hair, His body is also adorned with the eight treasures. Additionally, Manjushri Bodhisattva, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, and Guru Padmasambhava all have long hair that grew over their shoulders. You did not even have the basic knowledge of Buddha-dharma. How could you talk about recognition? Now the issue does not seem to be whether H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is false or not. Rather, it had to do with someone not having the ability of contemplating and seeing!

As a matter of fact, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III never self-claimed to be a Buddha, as was alleged by the Phoenix Weekly. His Holiness the Buddha always stated that He is a humble cultivator. Instead, His identity of reincarnating from an ancient Buddha was publicly recognized by all major sects of Buddhism in the world. More than 60 famous dharma kings, regent dharma kings, and great rinpoches wrote their recognitions, corroborating recognitions, and congratulations at different times to the prestigious status of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.

Among them are: the master of the Seventeenth Karmapa, Regent National Master Gyaltsab, Regent Dharma King Shamarpa, Dharma King Trulshik who is the master of Dalai Lama, Dharma King Taklung Tsetrul, Dharma King Chogye Trichen, Dharma King Dodrupchen Thupten Trinle Palzang who is the sole holder of Longchen Nying-thik Great Perfection, Dharma King Penor who was the third supreme leader of the Nyingma Sect, Dharma King Achuk who is the first-place holy and virtuous one in Tibet today, Dharma King Jigme Dorje who is the highest dharma king of the Jonang Sect, Dharma King Zongkang who is the master of Tangrang Jiawa, Xiazhu Qiuyang Rinpoche, Great Bodhisattva Tangtong Gyalpo who is a greatly accomplished one in the dharma of Kuan Yin Bodhisattva, and others.

There are several dozens of recognitions, corroborating recognitions, and congratulations. Additionally, distinguished leading Buddhists including Venerable Elder Monk Wu Ming, Venerable Elder Monk Yi Zhao, and others also came to learn the dharma from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. His Holiness the Buddha’s coming to the world is really the good fortune of the earthly realm. Sakyamuni Buddha and all Buddhas would all praise the good luck of living beings here!

Can the Phoenix Weekly deny and wipe out all these facts? The magazine ignored all these dozens of recognitions but chose to grab the statements of denial from the two or three low and virtue-less persons as the evidences. It also used the scheme of covering up the name in doing so. At this point of analysis, it is quite clear and needless to mention what the behind the scene force was that propelled the Phoenix Weekly. However, what is the reason for doing so?

In that article published in the Phoenix Weekly, the author already admitted that it was due to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s coming to the world. With His Holiness the Buddha’s fully deserved status of the leader of Buddhism in the world, various Buddhist leaders in the world would be demoted to become leaders of their specific sects under the name of Buddhism! Actually, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III never acted this way. Those self-claimed Buddhist leaders were self-inflicting their worries and fears. If this leader is a dharma king who truly possesses holy realization, he or she would not be worried. Having the Buddha in the world to benefit living beings is the best thing that can happen. Those who are really afraid of “being demoted” and losing power are the ones who have the names of Buddhist leaders but do not possess holy realization. This is because, when a true Buddha comes to the world, people who rely on their inherited lineages to play mysteries and give order would no longer have a place to apply their abilities.

His Holiness the Buddha brought the true dharma of Tathagata to the world and used clear, explicit, and easy-to-understand languages to expound the dharmas of both exoteric Buddhism and esoteric Buddhism. Moreover, in order to manifest the Buddha’s supreme and perfect good fortune and the selfless conduct of benefiting living beings by a true Buddha or Bodhisattva to let living beings in this dharma-ending era have the confidence of learning Buddhism and cultivating, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III made His vow of only saving living beings and not accepting offerings. This situation truly put an end to the future of those guys who make their livings from exploiting Buddhism and snatching money and properties from living beings! With H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III stationed in this world, there would be no possibility for them to deceive and mislead living beings. How could the people who make their livings this way not hate His Holiness the Buddha extremely? It is quite natural for them to jump out to insult, defame, and slander. They had no other choice. Otherwise, would they be willing to follow H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III to learn Buddhism and cultivate, and to learn not to accept offerings? The situation is that these people who are not holy ones and are ordinary persons instead have their very high statuses and are receiving huge benefits. Would these greedy people be willing to give this up?

These people are ignorant to the law of cause and effect to such an extent. They do not believe in the law of cause and effect and committed violations to the law of cause and effect. They made deformations against His Holiness the Buddha and even self-claimed themselves to be Buddhist leaders!  They regarded the fact that Sakyamuni Buddha entered into nirvana as their opportunity of using living beings’ ignorance to destroy His teaching. They take advantage of the Buddha’s disciples and scam people under the name of Buddhism. Do you really think the Buddha can be taken advantage of? Do you really think that no great holy ones would come to the world after the World-Honored One left? Since all living beings are family members of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will come to the world according to the karmic conditions and sustain Buddha-dharma by all means. They will subdue demons, expel the army of Mara the Evil One, defend the path of enlightenment, and guard living beings until they attain enlightenment!

All the people who deny the status of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III are in two categories. Those who are in the first category deliberately deny this fact and engage in slandering with ulterior motives. They are afraid of the fact that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III came to the world. People in the second category are ignorant. They apply their shallow and limited knowledge to erroneously comment on the boundlessly broad genuine Buddha-dharma. They use their mentality of an ordinary person to evaluate and judge the Buddha’s supreme realization. They do not know how tall the sky is and how thick the ground is. They are Buddhists with the manner of someone mentioned in an ancient story as adoring painted man-made dragons. These Buddhists’ lack of true cultivation in Buddha-dharma resembles the situation of one who had never seen a true dragon. Then they are like the person in that story who refused to recognize true dragons just because the true dragons do did not look like the man-made dragons seen in paintings. Is this a problem with the truth (analogous to the true dragon in the story), or a problem with those believers who thought just like that person who liked and worshiped the man-made dragons only?

H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III said, “What I am is not determined from what the rinpoches said, much less from the recognitions and corroborating recognitions they wrote. It is determined from my own speech, conduct, and nature. That is why now I am still a humble one since the beginning-less time. There has been no increase, nor reduction. Slandering does not pollute me. Praises and honors add no luster to me. I am nothing other than a humble servant before the great masses.”

Great Dharma King Thupten Trinle Palzang Dodrupchen IV, who is the sole holder of the highest dharma of Great Perfection Longchen Nying-thik, made a well-said statement, “Gold put in the midst of mud is still gold. Brass will still be brass no matter how it is polished. What use does recognition have?”

Think about this fact, when Sakyamuni Buddha came to the world, who did the recognition for Him? Didn’t His realization and teaching of Buddha-dharma manifest the inherently perfect enlightenment capacity of a Buddha? The accomplishments and enlightenment capacity of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III are not matched by a second person in this earthly realm. Then, who has the qualification of doing the recognition?

4 The World Peace Prize Is Sublime and Authentic, as Declared by a Resolution Passed by the United States Congress

The Phoenix Weekly said that some people made a replacement of contents in the People’s Daily to tout H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III; the organization that awarded Him the World Peace Prize was a group of international swindlers; the International Buddhism Sangha Association did not have credibility and recognition from the public.

The People’s Daily Overseas Edition did publish an article about the legitimate recognition of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, who was legitimately recognized. Two months later, it published a statement saying that someone had made an unauthorized replacement of its contents. This statement was regarded as a treasure by the people who engaged in the slandering acts, including the Phoenix Weekly. Since the People’s Daily is such a major newspaper, how could it wait for two months before making a statement about publishing the wrong contents? The International Buddhism Sangha Association made the clarification that IBSA had had no involvement with this event. IBSA did not publish an advertisement for H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and there was no need of making such propaganda. The People’s Daily did not deny the status of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. They were not in a position of making such a denial anyway. When replying to the Buddha Voice Broadcasting Alliance, attorneys representing the People’s Daily Overseas Edition stated that they had the authority to publish the article. They did not deny (the status of His Holiness the Buddha). They had nothing to do with howr others  slandered the Buddha. According to information in the public domain, the award ceremony of the 2010 World Peace Prize was held by the World Peace Prize Awarding Council at the Congress of the United States. The recipients of the World Peace Prize of the year were H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and Hon. Benjamin A. Gilman, who is the former Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. At the same time, the World Peace Prize Roving Ambassador for Peace was awarded to the Civil Air Patrol. Since its establishment in 1989, recipients of the “World Peace Prize” include the 40-th president of the United States Ronald Reagan, the Pre-eminent political and ideological leader of India Mahatma Gandhi, Former Prime Minister of Israel Rabin, and other famous people.

The Phoenix Weekly described the World Peace Prize Awarding Council as a group of international swindlers and said that the recipients of the Prize were all jokes. Then, is it true that the 40-th president of the United States Ronald Reagan, the Pre-eminent political and ideological leader of India Mahatma Gandhi, and others who were awarded this prize were jokes? The Phoenix Weekly should clearly understand its own logic. If an organization regarded as legitimate by the law, the congress, and the public of the United States is identified as a group of international swindlers by the Phoenix Weekly, who is causing a problem? Moreover, the Senate of the 112-th United States Congress passed unanimously without dissent its Resolution No. 614 on December 12, 2012 to commend the World Peace Prize and celebrate President Reagan, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, and the former Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Gilman. If the opinion of the Phoenix Weekly were to be followed, should the US Senate or even the entire US Congress be regarded as a group of swindlers?

The Phoenix Weekly also accused the International Buddhism Sangha Association and other organizations as lacking credibility and recognition from the public. Since these organizations all have their legally valid statuses, I would like to ask the Phoenix Weekly what the International Buddhism Sangha Association has done, if anything, to caused loss to the harmonic development of humanity and peace in the world? What did you mean by lacking credibility and recognition?  Who do they need to have recognition from? Who wished to have the supervising authority of recognition above them?

Speaking of recognition, let me mention that fact that the Phoenix Weekly introduced Dalai Lama’s Tibet Religious Foundation as the representative of Tibetan Buddhism. Since others all needed recognition according to your logic, I would like to ask, who recognized Dalai Lama’s status of representing Tibetan Buddhism? Just as the International Buddhism Sangha Association pointed out, “The leading dharma king of the Gelug Sect in Anterior Tibet (Tibet’s U-region) is the Dalai Lama. The leading dharma king of the Gelug Sect in Ulterior Tibet (Tibet’s Tsang-region) is the Panchen Lama. The leader of the Gelug Sect in Mongolia is the Lcanskya Khutuktu. The highest leader of the Gelug Sect was Master Tsongkhapa. However, even Master Tsongkhapa was not the leader of the entire Tibetan Buddhism. The Dalai Lama is even further away from that status. The Dalai Lama is just the leader of the Gelug Sect in Anterior Tibet. The Religious and Cultural Division of Dalai Lama’s Tibet Government in exile is just a political organization representing Dalai Lama. It does not have the power of recognizing or not recognizing anyone. Who recognized Dalai Lama as the leader of Tibetan Buddhism? He is not a patriarch master or leader to the major sects of Tibetan Buddhism. Who recognized this Government in exile? This political organization that does not have land or citizenry wants to represent all of Tibetan Buddhism. Who accepted your claim?”

The current Dalai Lama had only one document of recognition, which was written by the Regent Dharma King Reting V. No other sect gave recognition or wrote a document of recognition. If you, the Phoenix Weekly, can publicly deny the status of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III who is recognized by more than 60 documents of recognitions and corroborating recognitions, why did you, the Phoenix Weekly, accept the status of Dalai Lama that was supported by only one document of recognition? Was there a hereditary connection? Could one document of recognition identify the true Dalai Lama? Can a false one uphold the true dharma of Tatahgata?

Let’s consider not just the Dalai Lama, who is an ordinary person faked as a holy one. Even if those so-called great rinpoches who denied or intended to deny the status of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III are all included, can misty air be carved from inside a boulder? Or can any of them make a colored sculpture (Please go the International Art Museum of America to see examples.)? Can Dalai, Sakya Trizin, or Tangrang Jiawa accomplish that? Even if one of your accomplices could do that, I will admit that you have the holy wisdom of Buddha-dharma and accept whatever you say. Well, you will only have yourself embarrassed!

In 2012, quite a few events of self-immolation occurred in Tibet. When speaking to US reporters, Dalai Lama said, “The people who sacrificed themselves in self-immolation had their sincere motives. They did so for the sake of Buddha-dharma and people’s wellbeing. In terms of the view of Buddhism, that was positive.” Dawa Cairen stated that the doctrine of Buddhism does not permit self-immolation for the self. However, self-immolation for benefiting others is a respected and noble sentiment. He even mentioned the example of the Buddha giving up His body to feed tigers.

How could these statements represent the true dharma of Tathagata? Throughout the history of Buddhism, which Buddha or Bodhisattva was not willing to sacrifice the self for saving living beings? How would they ever sacrifice living beings for the self? Giving up His body to feed tigers was done by the Buddha for feeding and raising living beings. There was no body of someone else to be given up! If you think that self-immolation is a positive act of Buddhism and is worthy of being praised, why didn’t you burn yourself to make the contribution to the endeavor of Buddhism?

One shall not impose what he does not like on others! You take advantage of living beings’ trust and devoution to you to drive them to sacrifice their innocent lives for your selfish gains. What kind cruel act is this? How many people’s opportunities of acquiring wisdom were destroyed by you! You are an evil being who carries the flag of the Buddha for cover without a doubt!

Now let’s look at the speech and conduct of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. At the award ceremony of the World Peace Prize, His Holiness the Buddha said, “I think receiving this prize is not an affirmation of me as a person. It is an affirmation of pursuing peace happiness, freedom, and equality by all of humanity. It is an affirmation of all people who selflessly benefit others and help others. Therefore, I will forever constantly practice my vow of aspiration:

I will bear all negative karmas and sins of living beings,

I will give all my good karmas and merit to you.”

In the recorded dharma lessons expounded by His Holiness the Buddha, We always hear how to benefit and help living beings, how to benefit others selflessly, how to attain liberation and accomplishment, how to contribute to the peace in the world, and how to consume the self to save living beings! Contrast this to living on offerings from living beings and running the business of collecting money from selling admission tickets by the Dalai Lama and people in his category, His Holiness the Buddha made the vow of not accepting offerings and only benefiting living beings to facilitate saving living beings in this dharma-ending era. People can all see who is holy and who is worldly from this comparison. That is why I concluded that the motive of the Phoenix Weekly and its website was very poisonous!

5. Hua Zang Si Only Has the Statues of Sakyamuni Buddha, Amitabha Buddha, and Other Buddhas and Bodhisattvas

The Phoenix Weekly claimed that Hua Zang Si only worships the statue of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and does not worship the statue of Sakyamuni Buddha; H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has no hair; and, ironically, He researched and developed medicines for preventing hair loss and activating hair growth.

Why didn’t you go to Hua Zang SI to see what Buddha statues are worshipped there? The fact is that the statues of Sakyamuni Buddha, Amitabha Buddha, Kuan Yin Bodhisattva, and Maitreya Bodhisattva are all worshipped in the temple’s Buddha halls. Also, there is not even one statue of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III there. Isn’t making lies to such an extent a low-class act?

The magazine also tried to humiliate His Holiness the Buddha by saying He does not have hair, and to ridicule the fact that His Holiness the Buddha invented medicines for hair growth. I would like to ask the person who wrote this. Have you ever seen H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III? If not, at least you should ask the people who did. All people who had the opportunity of paying respect to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III in person knew that His Holiness the Buddha has a full head of dark hair. Moreover, His Holiness the Buddha reversed His appearance to that of a youth and has a very majestic looking. Why did the Phoenix Weekly want to make such a lie of denying this very simple fact? I can only suspect that people who provided such information to the Phoenix Weekly had the motive of setting up a scheme to do harm to it. The Phoenix Weekly was unlucky to the extreme.

Speaking from another angle, what does having hair or not have to do with inventing products of hair growth? Inventing products that benefit humanity did not receive praise from them and was ridiculed instead. Such “rigorous” and “mature” logic of this magazine makes people not know what to say.

People with just a little cultivation of Buddha-dharma can tell that the recorded dharma lessons expounded by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III bring the true dharma of Tathagata. Additionally, His Holiness the Buddha’s realizations are all in the world for people to see. How can such facts  be negated and wiped out? I would like to ask the Phoenix Weekly and its gang: who are swindlers after all?

To determine what is true and what is false, you should at least be more capable than the person you are accusing or undergo the events he stated before you can comment. Speaking of morality and enduring humiliation, you are not good at that; in teaching the sutras and expounding the dharma, you are certainly unable to match; looking at true realization of Buddha-dharma, you are tens of thousand miles away; examining the perfect manifestation of the Five Vidyas in worldly dharma, you simply does not have any; in terms of the accomplishments of saving living beings, the other party has so many cases of easily sending people to the World of Ultimate Bliss and saving living beings from suffering and hardship. Why did you keep belittling the person who is better than you in all aspects? Why can’t you admit that the other party is better than you? Why do you stubbornly engage in making troubles, creating lies out of nothing, and doing all you can to damage other people’s reputation? Why did you go to the extreme in all these acts? You should first give a reason that is reasonable!

Public opinions can exert a huge power of influence.  That is why there are laws governing the news media in countries everywhere in the world: the contents of a report must be based on facts and cannot mislead the public. How a story is presented can greatly affect its impact on the audience. Therefore, people in the profession of journalism must be objective and speak from facts. However, the report published in the Phoenix Weekly this time totally disregarded the applicable stipulations of the law and went opposite to the professionalism upheld by journalists everywhere in the world. Measured by the law, it definitely violated people’s rights. In terms of journalism, it brought shame to people working in this profession.

The bird named phoenix only stays on Indus trees and drinks nothing but nectar. It has high elegance and holy purity and will never want to degenerate to lower grounds! The Phoenix Weekly contaminated the name of phoenix and should remove this word from its name.

This magazine was so willing to serve as someone’s voice; what is its attitude toward the central government of China, the government of Hong Kong, and the Congress of the United States? It does not uphold the principle of sincerity, openly abandons the doctrine of human rights, and recklessly deceives people in Hong Kong and mainland China as well as oversea Chinese everywhere in the world; what is its attitude toward the public’s wisdom?  It openly slanders and falsely accuses H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, what is its attitude toward Buddha-dharma and the law of cause and effect?

The Phoenix Weekly will not fulfill its goal of being the voice of Dalai’s group to slander H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Rather, because of hearing the Buddha name of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, even more living beings will have the karmic conditions related to His Holiness the Buddha and as a result will have the seed of attaining Buddha-hood planted. If this does not occur, the feats of Sakyamuni Buddha saving living beings for their liberation and accomplishment would not have been true. This fact is not the purpose of those evil accusers producing the two slandering articles but reflects the ultimate truth from the law of cause and effect nonetheless.
