Sinful Bhiksunis Shi Long Hui and Shi Jue Hui are foolish and stupid. This time, in response to the defamatory and slandering reports published in the Phoenix Weekly that were completely baseless and in contrary to the truth, the International Buddhism and Sangha Association held a press conference in Hong Kong. However, in the statement issued after the press conference, the statutory Buddhist name of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III did not have “H.H.” as the prefix. Additionally, we added the Buddha’s previous worldly name as a note after the Buddhist name. Such an act violated a bhiksuni’s basic code and rules and belongs to the speech and conduct of slandering, to say the least.
Since the publication of the treasure book about His Holiness the Buddha in the world in 2008, the statutory Buddhist name of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has been confirmed by the recognitions, corroborating recognitions, and congratulations from more than one hundred leaders and rinpoches of all major Buddhist sects.
Of course, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III does not regard this as a definitive standard and did not give an approval. His Holiness the Buddha still says that He is a humble one and a servant to all people. However, an even more important principle is that the title of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III became statutory by the government’s authority of law. Therefore, the previous worldly name can no longer be used.
Today, the two of us of the International Buddhism and Sangha Association even made such immoral addressing in the text of this statement due to ignorance. The sin committed was notoriously big. It was an insult to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas as well as to Buddha-dharma. What we did falls into the conduct of sin and guilt.
As leaders of the International Buddhism and Sangha Association, we sincerely repent before all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the ten directions as well as all Buddhist disciples and cultivators this speech and conduct that committed sin to Buddha-dharma and to living beings.
Now we make this public announcement: Buddhist disciples shall only use the statutory Buddhist name “H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III” in any writing or verbal addressing, and shall not commit the same dark karma and sin as we did.
