Zangdog Pairi (Glorious Copper-Colored Mountain): The Pure Land of Padmasambhava. Chagdud Tulku built a replica of this pure land in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Tarthang Tulku RInpoche is building the Odiyan Copper Mountain Mandala in Sonoma County, north of San Francisco, CA, modeled after Samye Monastery that was built by Guru Padmasambhavain the eighth century in Tibet.

Zen (Ch’an): A Chinese form of mahayana Buddhism that became the basis for major schools in Korea and Japan. Term is a transliteration of the Chinese Ch’an which is a transliteration of the Sanskrit “dhyana.”

Zheng Fa Ming Buddha (True Dharma Brightness): An ancient Buddha who transformed into the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara or Guan Shi Yin.

Zun Sheng, Great Dharma King: A manifestation of MahavairocanaBuddha who was an early teacher of His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III.
