Answer No. 2

What you said is half right regarding truly wishing to receive an inner-tantric initiation. It is true that  your great holy master must first be happy to confer the initiation to you. However, this entails only passing the first check. If the great holy master does not agree to that, there would be no slightest hope at all.

Regardless of what merit a person has established, as long as this person has an attitude toward the master conferring inner-tantric initiations (who is at the level of a Buddha or Bodhisattva) that indicates this person is unable to cut off doubt and generate faith to exterminate phenomena and transcend all sects and schools, the person’s mental cause and nature is damaged. The World-Honored One said in the Vajra Praise that one has to “cut off doubt and generate faith to exterminate phenomena and transcend all sects and schools.” That already entailed that “doubt” is the origin of eradicating one’s good roots. If you are insincere and speak falsely, even if you only said one sentence of false words on purpose to your master conferring inner-tantric initiations, you will have committed offense to the “Precept against the Fundamental Sin of Speaking Casually” and will not receive a successful inner-tantric initiation. Furthermore, if a disciple who has successfully received an inner-tantric initiation or an initiation of state practice purposely says one sentence of false words to the master who conferred the inner-tantric initiation or initiation of state practice, the yidam will leave the disciple far away and the seed planted from the initiation will be weakened or damaged. Consequently, the power of the dharma will naturally recede.

Anyone who committed such an offense must repent thoroughly right away. After correcting, you absolutely cannot violate again even once and must be absolutely loyal. In the case of receiving an “Initiation of Dharma Affinity with the Yidam,” it is one-hundred-percent certain that the yidam will not come to accept a disciple who spoke falsely.

You have to clearly understand that to receive an inner-tantric initiation one must go through two checks. If the master conferring the initiation is pleased to confer the initiation to you, you only passed the first check. One must also pass the second check of decision by selection, and the check of decision by selection is not decided by the master performing the initiation. However, if you have purposely spoken false words to your master of initiation, you absolutely will not pass the check of decision by selection. Therefore, the inner-tantric initiation will not be successfully conferred because the yidam will not approve.
