The World Buddhism Association Headquarters (WBAH) received some submitted questions that must be answered correctly. Now members of the Group of Holy Gurus provided the following correct answers. Please pay attention and read carefully. You need to understand every answer.
- Regardless of how high a grade level of blue buttons a master has, this master can at most confer verbal inner-tantric initiations that were performed by Vairotsana, the ninth-generation patriarch of the Nyingma Sect, and is not able to confer a true inner-tantric initiation for disciples. The same is true if this master is in another sect or tradition.
- Any inner-tantric initiation conferred by a Holy Guru at the level of Golden Button Grade 3 (Shangzun) must be held at an inner-tantric mandala that is in accordance with the Dharma. The three Vajra Phurbas (Scepters) should be present at such a mandala. Otherwise, the initiation is not only ineffective but also harmful. The exception is that the initiation is conferred in person by a Buddha or a Bodhisattva with equal enlightenment or marvelous enlightenment such as Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, Manjushri Bodhisattva, and Maitreya Bodhisattva.
- Holy Gurus at the level of Golden Button Grade 3 are only able to confer true inner-tantric initiations but do not possess the qualification to confer an initiation of a Yidam-transmitted Dharma and is not able to confer a holy inner-tantric initiation.
- To know a person’s level of achievement, status, whether this person is holy or ordinary, and whether the person’s state of realization is true or false, you must observe the person’s dharma attire and grade level. The dharma attire and the grade level are determined by the holy examination which consist of the test on the sutras, vinayas, and shastras as the basis, as well as by the final confirmation by the Yidam on behalf of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. The result is one hundred percent accurate.
- To recognize a reincarnated rinpoche, the most common way is divination by watching a sacred lake and recognizing trusted objects used in the previous lifetime. However, such recognition is not one hundred percent accurate. The most accurate recognition requires a determination by holy selection conducted by a Holy Guru who is at least at the level of Golden Button Grade 3.
- What kind of rinpoche or lama has the qualification to recognize a reincarnated rinpoche? Answer: Such rinpoche must have undergone a determination by holy selection to get the approval by the Yidam and Dharma protectors to have the authority of recognition.
- Holy Gurus of Golden Button Grade 1 (Ruzun) have attained holy realization. They are able to uncover a terma without direct verification, but are unable to uncover a terma with direct verification. Holy Gurus of Golden Button Grade 1 cannot perform an inner-tantric initiation. They can only perform an inner-tantric initiation by using handed-down holy Dharma water.
- Holy Gurus at the levels of Golden Button Grade 1 to Golden Button Grade 3 do not possess the qualification to confer a holy inner-tantric initiation and are not able to confer an initiation of a Yidam-transmitted Dharma.
- Holy Gurus at the level of Golden Button Grade 3 do not have the certainty to successfully send a petition to a Bodhisattva.
- The difference in realization between Golden Button Grade 1 (Ruzun) and Golden Button Grade 2 (Jiaozun) is very small. The abilities at these two levels are almost equal. However, the difference in realization between Golden Button Grade 2 and Golden Button Grade 3 is very large.
- An inner-tantric initiation can be conferred by using handed-down holy Dharma water. But a holy inner-tantric initiation cannot be conferred by using handed-down holy Dharma water. That means there is no holy inner-tantric initiation that is conferred using handed-down holy Dharma water.
- At the level of Golden Button Grade 4, a male Holy Guru is a Shengzun and a female Holy Guru is a Yuzun. They have attained the state of Great Mahasattva and can easily confer an inner-tantric initiation. Uncovering terma with direct verification is as easy as turning the hand over. They can also accomplish sending a petition to a Bodhisattva and can confer a holy inner-tantric initiation of a Yidam-transmitted Dharma to the disciple.
- For a master of any type, whether the level and realization of this master belong to the holy realm or the mundane realm and whether such a master is true or false can be determined definitively by holy selection in an inner-tantric mandala. People present will realistically see the state. There is no way to make a false claim under such circumstance.
- Golden Button Grade 5 is the highest level called Taizun. This is the top level of golden buttons and is the level of a Bodhisattva with equal enlightenment or marvelous enlightenment. The accomplishment at this level surpasses all other levels of golden buttons. The state above Golden Button Grade 5 is all-encompassing immeasurable wisdom, which is the state of all Buddhas in the ten directions.
- People saw Wangzha Shangzun’s amazing cultivated power that indicates the accomplishment of a Vajra holy body. The Shangzun effortlessly lifted the 1,000-jin hall-blocking Vajra scepter. No Dharma kings, rinpoches, and Dharma masters in the world can match that. Not even one person can be found among them who has such good physique. Some people made the request to beseech the Shangzun to confer holy inner-tantric initiations to them. We now inform you with the fact. The Shangzun is indeed amazing and has truly attained His Vajra body. However, He has not yet accomplished the ability to confer holy inner-tantric initiations whereby the Dharma is transmitted by the Yidam. The reason is that He does not have an absolute certainty to accomplish sending a petition to a Bodhisattva and does not possess the ability to confer an initiation of a Yidam-transmitted Dharma. A Shengzun or a Yuzun can confer an initiation of a Yidam-transmitted Dharma, but They do not accept disciples and do not confer initiations or transmit Dharmas to cultivators. We now clearly tell you that, in this world, only H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III can truly confer initiations that transmit the Dharma by the Yidam! Nevertheless, you still must go through a determination by holy selection before His Holiness the Buddha transmits the Dharma to you. Previous recipients include Yin Hai Shengzun, Wangzha Shangzun, Gar Tongstan Shangzun, and Holy Virtuous Person Zhao Yusheng. Additionally, another example is that a cultivator received the initiation with the Dharma transmitted by the Yidam who is a golden-colored Bodhisattva. At the Hall of the Three Holy Beings, a crowd witnessed openly that she received the initiation of a Yidam-transmitted Dharma. On that night, the golden-colored Bodhisattva descended from the sky and transmitted the Dharma to her. An initiation of a Yidam-transmitted Dharma is absolutely not what leading gurus of sects and schools or great Dharma kings can perform. Holy Gurus conferring such initiation must be at the level of Shengzun, Yuzun, or Taizun. It should be said that They all are tremendously holy virtuous ones who have attained great achievement by practicing great Dharmas transmitted by His Holiness the Buddha.
- The Holy Miracles Temple is a temple that truly upholds fairness and selflessness. The temple does not install the position of abbot. All are treated equally based on merit, based on virtue, are in accordance with the Dharma, and are in response to karmic conditions. The temple welcomes holy virtuous gurus as well as eminent monastics, great virtuous ones, and beneficently knowledgeable Buddhists to apply for holding their own Dharma assemblies at the Holy Miracles Temple. However, the application has to be approved through a review process. The review process does not set a high standard for approval and only requires that your prepared exposition of the Dharma is correct overall.
- Holy feats at the Holy Miracles Temple are open to the public for paying homage and viewing respectfully, including the visage of Yin Hai Shengzun that is currently manifesting a holy miracle.
- It is the honor and fortune of the WBAH to be able to respectfully beseech H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III to expound the Dharma to living beings. However, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is not just the Buddha of the World Buddhism Association Headquarters and, rather, is the Buddha, the supreme leader, of the entirety of His Holiness the Buddha was recognized as a Buddha in accordance with the Dharma and is a Buddha who forever never accepts any offerings and only serves the public without any compensation.
- As to the question regarding what is signified by Wangzha Shangzun’s lifting of the 1,000-jin Vajra Scepter, such question is rather ridiculous. Learning from Buddha is to learn true Buddha Dharma. Do you agree? Buddha Dharma includes two kinds of cultivated power, cultivated power of one’s nature and cultivated power of one’s physical body. First, the foremost goal is to seek ending the cycle of birth and death by realizing the absolute truth of prajna through self-cultivation. This is the cultivated power of nature to attain liberation by realizing Dharmakaya. The second is to cultivate one’s physical body made of the four great elements in the two aspects of physical health and physical strength. This is the cultivated power of physical body. Speaking in terms of an opposite scenario, if one can neither accomplish sending a petition to a Bodhisattva to manifest the high level of holy realization nor lift up the Vajra Scepter as required by the mid-level of holy realization, doesn’t this fact show that this person has a weak physical body of an ordinary person? Could this person possibly be a holy one with a strong and healthy body? Can a person who is physically weak and lacks good physical strength have cultivated power from Buddha Dharma to speak of? Even if one’s status or reputation is sky-high, a person who cannot surpass ordinary people in weight lifting is clearly a common person and has a body of ordinary person rather than a Vajra body. This fact simply shows that person does not hold true Buddha Dharma. Such a so-called holy one is a fake ordinary person.
- H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has said many times that He does not know about true inner-tantric initiations, let alone holy inner-tantric initiations whereby the Dharma is transmitted by the Yidam. His Holiness the Buddha also said that He is just an ordinary cultivator. However, Yin Hai Shengzun, Wangzha Shangzun, Gar Tongstan Shangzun, Holy Virtuous Person Zhao Yusheng, Jian Hui Ruzun, and the cultivator who received Dharma transmission from the golden-colored Bodhisattva who arrived in person are all disciples of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and all of them have received initiations and Dharma transmissions from His Holiness the Buddha. What else needs to be said? If even His Holiness the Buddha did not know about that, would a Shengzun, Yuzun, or Shangzun have any possibility to know? What H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III said does not indicate that His Holiness the Buddha is unable to confer or does not know such an initiation. Rather, it is because the disciples seeking such Dharmas do not have enough sincerity and devotion. They are not qualified to receive such initiations.
