The Office of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III:

The United International Buddhism Headquarters will soon hold the “Grand Dharma Assembly for World Peace,” a Buddhist ceremony to pray for the world’s peace, auspiciousness and prosperity. This is a great event that is worthy of people’s jubilation and celebration. According to what we learned, in addition to holding a Buddhist ceremony for bestowing empowerment and praying, the main theme of this conference also includes learning the teaching of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and the teaching of Shakyamuni Buddha as the code of conduct of cultivation. During this conference, cultivators should learn the speech and conduct of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III for benefiting living beings, take selflessly devoting to world peace as one’s vow of action, in order to pursue enlightenment and eventually achieve liberation and accomplishment.

However, there exist some Buddhists who went in a deviated direction. They planned to utilize the achievements created by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III in painting and calligraphy, tea, medicine, science and technology and other categories to make products and set up shopping booths and stands during the conference for attendees to purchase. They even started the activities of publicity ahead of time, claiming that purchasing these things can receive blessing.

Your act of popularizing and publicizing the accomplishments of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is certainly a good conduct. However, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III pointed out that your claims are in the wrong direction. Moreover, a Buddhist must have correct knowledge and views.

This Office hereby reminds you all. You all must first clearly understand one thing. This occasion of having Buddhist disciples gathering at one place is to use the pious devotion from all to beseech Kuan Shi Yin Bodhisattva and all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to bless all people, so as to eliminate living beings’ disasters and suffering and bring peace and happiness to the world. We must have our mind practice on praying for and benefiting all people. At such serious and solemn moment, how could we not pray sincerely and, instead, use the time of conference to carry out businesses and trade?

On another note, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has created many incomparably valuable and beautiful and unique accomplishments for mankind. The factories and firms producing these products were authorized by the Art Museum or other responsible companies. These products no longer have anything to do with H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. With the authorization, they designed and produced various merchandises and goods for sale. That is a proper and legitimate activity. Moreover, doing so introduces the accomplishments made by the Buddha into people’s life and brings aesthetic enjoyment to people. That is a very good and virtuous deed! However, this Office must point out that any buying or selling occurred during the conference has nothing to do with H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III will not receive even a penny of proceeds from it. H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III told us that the purpose of this conference is to pray for world peace and, therefore, all activities should evolve around the theme of world peace and serve this purpose. Anything that is not related to praying for world peace must not be mixed and interfere with this conference of world peace. You all should focus on sincerity and respect and everyone should make an effort to truly pray for the happiness of mankind and the auspiciousness of the world.

Based on our information, at the site of the conference, there will be booths for people to respectfully inviting Buddha statues and images, recorded dharma lessons, and Buddhist books. There will also be booths for promoting and popularizing the athletic sport of Wiser. Athletic sport can directly benefit people’s physical and mental health. All these are good deeds of bringing benefits to all people and should be supported.

Therefore, all Buddhists should firmly remember the teaching of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and always put living beings’ interests at the first place. Only by doing so, can one be a good Buddhist disciple and a good cultivator. Only by doing so, can one avoid having his life wasted and can one truly attain perfect good fortune and wisdom.

From the Office of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III,
