from the Office of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III:

Recently, some articles and speeches by some Buddhist disciples whose sayings do not agree with H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s teaching on cultivation appeared on the internet. Actually, such things simply belong to matters of rights and wrongs and should not be mentioned. Moreover, quite a few of these people have ulterior motives. They use false names to pretend to be disciples of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and deliberately spread words and deeds that are without merit. However, to us, regardless of what kind of people they are, they are living beings after all. They are whom we should care for. Their biased statements fell into prejudiced and bigoted views. That is why we issue this public announcement.

First, we should all clearly understand that every Buddhist follower must act according to the teaching of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and be a calm, peaceful, kind, loving-compassionate, insult-enduring, honest, and altruistic Buddhist disciple.

H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III stated very clearly inThe Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation: whether we are at the time of joy or at the time of suffering, if we forgot about bearing living beings’ pain and suffering, we must have already lost bodhicitta and have stepped onto wrong paths of prejudice. H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III not only teaches us to do so, He also personally practices this way in earnest. H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was attacked and persecuted for a long time. However, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was never angry against, never hated and never cursed those who did so against Him. Rather, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was always silently praying, blessing and extending good wishes to them.

Therefore, if we do not cultivate according to the Buddha’s teaching and, rather, treat living beings as our rivals and let living beings feel pressure, we must have lost the state of mind that is loving, compassionate and benefiting others. We would be going in the opposite direction to the conduct of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. We would no longer be a true cultivator.

As to the act of upholding and defending the true Buddha-dharma which is advocated by the International Buddhism Sangha Association, that refers to that Buddhist disciples must establish correct knowledge and views and must benefit living beings with the conduct of great loving kindness and great compassion. Toward people who carried out bad deeds due to having evil knowledge and views, we should move and transform them and help them with kindness and compassion. We certainly should not treat them as opponents and curse them. Cultivation and learning Buddhism require being united and friendly with each other. Having different opinions and non-agreeable views are due to not knowing the fact or misunderstanding. We should move and transform these people with our speeches and conduct of kindness and compassion and let them know the true facts. It has been stated very clearly in The Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation that living beings have been our family members and relatives since the beginning-less time. No matter what faults and mistakes they have committed, we should forgive them. How can we possibly curse and attack them instead?

The life of being a human is extremely precious. In this precious human life, we can only plant good causes and live a life of peace, kindness and cultivation, a life of benefiting others. This is what we must do.
