from the Office of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III:

Recently, we received inquiries from several rinpoches’ temples and dharma organizations, asking how much money is required for H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III to sign and issue a certificate of recognition for a rinpoche. The Office of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was very much stunned and surprised to hear this kind of unprecedented and extremely strange and absurd arguments. Therefore, we specifically beseeched H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III to give an announcement of definition.

H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III stated, “A true rinpoche is not what money can buy. Not to mention that you cannot buy from me with several millions of US dollars. Even with tens of millions of US dollars, I still will not sign and issue a certificate of recognition to you. If one is a true rinpoche, even if he does not have a penny, he is still a rinpoche. However, I still will not issue a certificate to recognize him. If one is not a true rinpoche, even if he put a mountain of gold here, he still will not become a rinpoche. Regardless of whether one is a true rinpoche or a false rinpoche, I will not issue a certificate of recognition anyway. Although I am one with a heart of humility, however, regardless whether you are true or false, as long as you act according to the Supreme and Unsurpassed Mahamudra of Liberation I expounded to benefit living beings and let living beings listen to the dharma more, what you do is true. You will inevitably possess true Buddha-dharma!”

The Office hereby seriously informs everyone. You all must clearly understand that possessing the title or status of dharma kings, rinpoches or venerable ones does not indicate that one is a holy virtuous one. Whether one is a true holy virtuous one, whether one is a true holy virtuous one with master’s qualification, or whether one possesses an ordinary being’s body or a holy one’s bone structure, must be verified by the result of an exam observed by seven masters and ten witnesses on the spot. That determines which category one’s holy capacity belongs to and how many stars one’s certificate of master’s qualification has. There exists no second standard. Just as H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III stated, “I do not possess the qualification to designate who is a holy virtuous one and who is an ordinary being. Shakyamuni does not possess the qualification to designate who is a holy virtuous one and who is an ordinary being either. The only standard is passing the exam observed by seven masters and ten witnesses on the spot in public. Any individual great holy virtuous one does not have the qualification of being a representative to make a conclusion.”

H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III stated that neither he nor Shakyamuni Buddha has the qualification to conclude who is holy one and who is ordinary being. The confirmation must come from the public. You can think about the great virtuous one you mentioned. Since he declared that the dharma he expounded was profound great dharma with Tibetan tantric lineage, he can tell who is a holy virtuous one and who is an ordinary being, he can see what one had to do with another person in a previous lifetime, and so on, you can just think about how this master of yours compares to the Buddha. This kind of person has physical body of ordinary being without forming a holy bone structure and is full of attachment to the self. He simply does not have the qualification of discoursing and teaching Buddha-dharma.

May this announcement be known to all!
