The H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum is now open to the public starting from today. This is a very good thing. The world now has one more cultural and art museum. This is a new member of the world’s culture, art, civilization, and health, which can now bring one more share of nice enjoyment and beauty to the great masses. This museum is the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum. It has the mission of permanently exhibiting some of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s accomplishments.

However, it has to be pointed out that there are many people who do not know the true situation. They think that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum is a private organization of Namo H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. This is a very wrong understanding. The fact is that the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum is a non-profit cultural and art organization for benefiting the public. It is not a private or personal art museum. The museum does use the name of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. However, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is neither a founder nor a leader or a member of this organization. H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III does not take part in any of the museum’s operation, management or other activities. The only thing H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III did for the museum is, in response to the museum’s request, to donate for free many artworks for exhibition by the museum, providing gains and benefits of kindness and beauty in culture, art, and religion to society. Therefore, to put in a very worldly way, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III not only does not make a profit through the museum, but also did not receive any compensation for all He did for the museum and took a loss. However, this act demonstrated the nature of His Holiness the Buddha — sacrificing His own interests to benefit living beings.

As early as April of this year before the museum was opened, the Office of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III (this Office) representing H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and this Office signed an agreement with the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum on displaying and exhibiting artworks at the museum. The agreement clearly stipulated the following:

  • All these artworks are provided free of charge to the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum long term for permanent exhibition;
  • The Office of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum are two separate organizations completely independent of each other; and
  • The H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum clearly understands that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and this Office do not participate in any of the operational, managerial, and other affairs of the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum or any activities of the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum.

It is also true that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III did not come to the museum’s grand opening on that day. The agreement also clearly stated that there exists no cooperation or relationship of any kind between the Office of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum. H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and the Office of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III are purely making voluntary contributions to the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum, for promoting kindness and beauty in society, and have no relationship of administration, working, operation, fund-raising, sales at the gift shop, personnel and any other kind with the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum. The H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum is solely responsible for the decisions, responsibilities, and profitability of any and all of its activities.

From the Office of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III,
