Bulletin #53: Misuse of the Buddha Master’s Name

By | May 11, 2019

The inquiry “Please kindly resolve my confusion” is from Dharma Master Liao Zheng. The original letter of inquiry is attached after this announcement. The matter mentioned in the letter may seem small, but in fact, the intention of the people mentioned therein is to commit fraud at the cost of slandering H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Therefore, an announcement must be issued to remind and notify everyone.

The matter started with someone who intended to use the name of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III to attract sponsors to raise fund. The fact of the matter is, this person’s speech and conduct defamed and slandered H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. With an ordinary being’s mentality and conduct, she lied to the public, saying that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III missed the Master’s Museums very much and so on. Therefore, she planned to build a Master’s Museum in the United States. Later, some accomplices of hers who noticed that the matter was not going right for them and had a discussion with her. Then they changed the project name to Beauty of Hometown in time to continue the wrongdoing and delude people. On the surface, this matter may seem to be an act out of good intention to respect His Holiness the Buddha, but in fact their intention is to use this pretense to collect money. His Holiness the Buddha is a Buddha. How can a title “master” that represents an ordinary person be used? We clearly inform those ignorant slandering persons that His Holiness the Buddha has had no attachment to greed since beginning-less eons. In the past, after completing the construction of the Master’s Museum, the government invited His Holiness the Buddha to attend the Museum’s solemn grand opening ceremony, but His Holiness the Buddha did not attend the event. The grand opening of the Master’s Museum in Hong Kong was extremely solemn and adorned, His Holiness the Buddha did not attend it either. How could His Holiness the Buddha have any coveting thought of missing the museums? What she said is simply outrageous deformation and big insult to His Holiness the Buddha!

For this, we asked H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. His Holiness the Buddha said, “I am indeed building a Master’s Museum, which is enabling all people and all sentient beings to attain perfect good fortune and wisdom and become liberated from birth and death. All the happiness that living beings can have is the Master’s Museum that I am building.

The hometown of Shakyamuni Buddha is the Sambhogakaya Buddha-land. The hometown of Amitabha Buddha is the World of Ultimate Bliss. The hometown of His Holiness the Buddha is just living beings’ happiness, liberation, and accomplishment. That person is so vicious, to the extent of belittling a true Buddha with the title of Master that people used in the early years and slandering H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III as having illusory thinking and attachment and coveting thought of missing something like an ordinary person. The severity of the sin of making such evil and vicious lies will inevitably result in malicious retributions! We pity such ignorant people and hope that they will stop working on their scheme. We advise them to repent their faults and start anew, and to truly learn the Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberationwell. H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III will not mind the slightest what they have done, they can still learn the upper-class Buddha Dharma.

Namo His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III!

Namo all Buddhas in the ten directions!

The Office of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III,

I prostrate to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III!

Respected Office of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III,

Recently I learned that some people want to build a Master’s Museum. The more I think about this, the more I feel this is not right. Since the identity of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has been known publicly to the world, how can a museum that exhibits and presents the magnificence of His Holiness the Buddha be named with “Master”? What kind of people are they? Are they Buddhist disciples who made their vow or people who have problems in their conduct? I sincerely ask for resolving my confusion.

Liao Zheng, holding my palms together
